TVB (USA) Inc. is the operator of the
Jade Channel (cable service in Los Angeles & San Francisco), and
the Jadeworld (nationwide) in the U.S.
Established in 1984 and incorporated in
California, TVB (USA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the TVB Group
based out of Hong Kong. During the summer of 1984, TVB (USA) started
its Jade Channel cable service targeting at the then new Chinese
community of the Monterey Park area just outside of Los Angeles. In
the few years that followed, the Jade Channel was carried by most
cable systems throughout the San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles. In
1991, TVB (USA) extended its Jade channel cable service coverage to
include San Francisco. With the coming of age of satellite
technology and customer demand from outside of California, the
24-hour Jade Channel Satellite Service was introduced in 1994
serving Chinese viewers all over the US.

within the continental U.S.. To subscribe to DIRECTV, you will need
to purchase and install DIRECTV's satellite viewing system (includes
18"x20" oval dish, a triple LNB and a set-top receiver)
In order to recevice the
Jadeworld Channels on DIRECTV, You will need to purchase and install
a DIRECTV multi-satellite viewing system which includes a DIRECTV
multi-satellite receiver and a 18"x20" oval multi-satellite (Tripple
LNB Dish) dish.
